Community Outreach Groups

St. Justin's has become a parish well known in the area for putting our faith into practice with those around us. Are you looking to do the same? Would you like to be one with Jesus and be His hands and feet in today's world? See below. We warmly welcome you and encourage you to find a ministry that speaks to your heart and talent.

Catholic Women's League

The Catholic Women's League (CWL) is a national organization rooted in Gospel values, calling its members to holiness through service to the people of God.

We extend an open invitation to all women of St. Justin, Martyr Parish to become members of the Catholic Women's League of Canada. We contribute to the life and vitality of our Church, family and community - both at home and abroad. While your presence at meetings is important, we realize that in this busy world it may not always be possible for you to attend! Be assured that your interest and support is as important as your attendance!

Throughout the League, you can help to "change the world" by your assistance in parish, community and nation. Your place is among us!

For more information please see Catholic Women's League, Canada and Catholic Women's League - Toronto.

** For more information, contact Diane Olmstead, CWL President,  through the Parish Office.

Catholic Mom's Group

Welcome to Catholic Mom's Group at St. Justin Martyr Parish!

We are a community of Catholic women who are willing to listen, inspire and cheer you on your role as a mother. Motherhood is a vocation with its own pleasures and challenges. Visit our Mother's Group and discover the joys of having good, solid Catholic girlfriends.

We meet Mondays and Wednesdays after the morning Mass at 9:10 am. If you are a mother or a guardian and would love to meet fellow mothers, reach out to us.

Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus Council in Canada was first formed in Montreal in 1897. For more than a century, the Knights of Columbus has thrived in Canada, and today, there are more than 229,500 Canadian members in nearly 1,900 councils throughout Canada's 10 provinces. Here at St. Justin's, our council was established in 1996 by Fr. Michael Busch, our former Pastor.

As Knights, men witness to their Catholic faith by serving the Church and engaging in volunteer service to those in need. In 2003, Knights in Canada donated more than $23 million to Church, community and youth charities, as well as 9 million hours of volunteer service.

Out of the Cold Program

Throughout the fall and winter months, many volunteers and parishioners here within the parish, volunteer their time to prepare casseroles for the homeless in downtown Toronto.

Together with the Good Shepherd Refuge and other agencies in Toronto, we work hand in hand to provide a warm and nutritious meal to all those who look to receive one. Sign-ups for casseroles take place in the fall.

**For more information, contact Joy Vaz-Jones through the Parish Office.

Food Bank

Our Food Bank at St. Justin Martyr Parish provides non-perishable food items and supplies to those who are in need, within the local community. Items may be dropped off year-round in the baskets provided (which are located in the hallway between the Sacristy and main Foyer - underneath our Tree of Life). Throughout the year, we call on volunteers to help sort donations we receive after big holidays (ie. Easter and Thanksgiving).

Watch the bulletin for announcements concerning volunteers. As always, we thank you for your continued generosity and support for those in our parish community who are in need.
