Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is held every first Wednesday of the Month.

The devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary are two significant expressions of Catholic spirituality, focusing on the love and mercy of Jesus and the compassion and purity of Mary. The devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus emphasizes Christ's immense love for humanity, as symbolized by His heart. This devotion is rooted in Scripture, where Jesus invites believers to learn from His heart, which is "meek and humble" (Matthew 11:29). It became more formalized in the seventeenth century through the visions of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, a French nun. In these visions, Jesus revealed His heart as a source of divine love, wounded by sin but overflowing with mercy. The Immaculate Heart of Mary devotion focuses on the interior life of Mary, her virtues, and her deep love for God and humanity. It is particularly tied to her maternal compassion and sorrow for the sins of the world. This devotion became widely recognized after the apparitions of the Virgin Mary at Fatima, Portugal, in 1917, where she asked for the consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart and for the faithful to offer prayers and sacrifices for the conversion of sinners.
